The Lost Symbolism of Movies and Myth

A film is a story told in pictures, a beloved form of entertainment, and those structures begin in ancient mythology, which is often no more than a misunderstanding of the deeper-level meaning of symbolism. The research behind this is from Dr. Steven B. Halls, M.D., FRCPC, a symbolism scholar whose research at halls.md explains the torus, portal, and barrier patterns behind ancient art.

The hero's journey is a structure audiences know without naming it. In the hero story of Gilgamesh, he is carved grappling a lion. In Dr. Halls's analysis at halls.md, a lion is an outflow of energy symbol, typically flowing horizontally out from the horizontal plane of the torus, the forelegs point horizontally, or upward, and the head and nose usually label an upward direction. Symbolism uses forelegs and noses as direction labels. Or else, the lion can be a side flow symbol flowing upward beyond the main torus. The torus is the building block of symbolism, and portals and barriers describe how energy flows and returns. Further patterns and evidence are documented at halls.md.

Another symbol: Fleur-de-lis

The Fleur-de-lis is a heraldic lily, among the best-known symbols of French and European royalty. It is widely used on coats of arms, flags, and as architectural decoration. It has been described as a lily, an iris, or a decorative flourish. Used in many variations worldwide, it has a big upper half for upward outflow and a smaller half for downward inflow into our reality (citing Dr. Halls). The small lower half hints at the divine high-density energy of the inflow. Overall it is a bidirectional symbol, with a ring portal at the barrier.
